July 31, 2006
haha...I had sushi twice over the weekend!! Had sashimi and sushi dinner @ ichiban on friday night and had sushi lunch @ first markham sunday afternoon! wahoo...
for some odd reason, I've been having cravings for sushi the last few weeks...and I think I like Japanese food more than Korean food. lol...I like chinese food the least now, probably...oh wait...I think Indian food ranks lower than Chinese food..wahhahahah

Funny Cantonese
lol...I remember the first time I listened to Sammy's "funny cantonese", I was driving and then I couldn't stop laughing in the car. The cars passing by me would probably think I was insane or nuts.
Then the second time I heard them was during hot pot at my house and we were literally laughing on the floor.
Now I decided to bring these to work to listen...my gosh...lol...I have to try sooo hard to restrain myself from laughing out loud...lol...some of the new ones are quite funny too...hahahha...
So yeah, if you are ever bored at work, I suggest you listen to some "funny cantonese", I'm sure Sammy will lighten up your day! lol...

Junior Web Designer
The day after Canada day weekend was my first day at my new job at UTSC as a Junior Web Designer.
I was more excited than nervous. I had Web design jobs before, but somehow this one feels different. Maybe becuz of the title, watever it is, it feels good.
I remember back in ING, everyday I would look at the clock and hope the day would end faster. I felt my job was so meaningless and I didn't know what I was doing there.
When I started working @ school, I look at the clock too, but not so eager to get home. It was more like trying to finish my work before I leave. This was the hint for myself that I think I really like my new job. I'm enjoying it, ppl are nice there and my supervisor likes my work.
I feel a much greater sense of self accomplishment than my old work place. This is the first time I hope my contract wouldn't end so soon. Before this, I used to get confused about how some ppl can stay in one job for 20+ years. I could never imagine myself staying at ING for the rest of my life.
But now, I think I know why. If you have the passion for your job, and you really like it, you will WANT to stay there for a long time.
All in all, what I'm trying to say is, I think this is my ultimate career in the future. I'll try my best to find the balance between income and interest.
To have passion in your job is very important. No matter how much a job pays, if you are not happy there, then you are just making yourself miserable.
Never compromise to that.
