October 22, 2006
On October 23rd, 2006, Alan Lau will be leaving the city he lived for 17 years to pursue a better life and career in Hong Kong.
Since he wrote so much on his blog about us, I figure maybe I should dedicate an entry to him in here.
Okay, let's start from the beginning. When did we first meet? I believe our first encounter was in Grade 9 French class. How old are we now?
5 years of high school plus 4 years of university, I think we have known each other for almost 10 years now. As we are still in the 20s, that means half of our life was involved with each other either directly or indirectly.
I told myself I'm not gonna cry in front of you, so I won't do it in here either.
10 years of friendship, has it finally come to an end, by this turning point in our lives? I hope not.
I'm going to be very honest in here. It is very hard for me to see my friends DEPARTing to other countries. Sometimes I would even have the urge to go with them. I cannot predict the future, but I will try my very best to keep this friendship going.
I don't know what I'm going to do without you. Probably just sit at home in front of my computer and let myself rot. For sure i'm going to miss our weekly gatherings. I'm going to miss all your funny jokes. I'm going to miss playing mah jong at your house. I'm going to miss "enjoying" your mother's hair styles...lol. I'm going to miss Mitch and Goldie. I'm going to miss our daily msn chatting.
I'm going to miss your apartment's gym. I'm going to miss your security guards...lol!!!
Most importantly, I'll miss you.
I remember we talked about our plans in the future, when we are 30yrs old, 40yrs old, 50yrs old...etc.
I hope we are still good friends when we are at our 30s and be able to laugh at the silly things we did when we were young.
I hope we can bring our kids to gatherings at our 40s and hopefully they will become friends also.
I hope we can discuss about our retiring plans together at our 50s.
I hope we can go on a retirment trip together at our 60s.
...anyways, I think you get the picture.
I wish you can find your dream job in no time. I wish you can get marry with Joanna and then invite me (provide me the round trip ticket pls...lol). I wish you will have Raru and Jamie as planned...lol...
Thank you for everything you have done for me and all the best for your future!
