Finally it's coming to an end...

December 29, 2006

Today is the last friday of year 2006 and on top of that, it is my last day at ING, the place I've been working for the past 4 yrs.

I started off as a summer student right before I go into University. I still remember my co-workers were telling me University is not as scary as I thought. I used to think ppl working @ ING are all so nice and I really liked the place at that time.

As time passed by, I adjusted to University's style of life and started working as a part time to earn some money for my personal expenses as well as tuition.

Everyone in my team knows I'm a comp sci student, so one way or another, they kind of expected me to leave at some point, or switch over to the IT department. I remember my previous supervisor was telling me that I'm going to be ended up @ ING after school just like him. I said I'm confident that I won't be. Now I really have fulfilled my dream since highschool.

Finally, I can have my dream job, I can be a person that I've always dreamed of, I achieved my goal.

The four years at ING have changed me a lot. It was my first "real" job comparing to the fast food position I had. However, deep down in my heart, I've always known finance is NOT my field. I couldn't stand the fact that I have to do the same tasks and procedures over and over on a daily basis. I need some changes everyday, I'm pretty sure I'll be bored to death if I keep working in a bank for the next 10 years of my life. I'm just not that type of person.

Next Tuesday...

December 14, 2006

I'm having a mixed feelings of excitement and nervousness. I'm going to have my interview on next Tuesday, if I do a good job on it, it will lead me to my very first full time job.

Althought I've been working ever since HS, but I've always been a part time here and there. Never once in my life did I have a full time before. To me, a full time job is like a REAL job, which means this will be the starting point of my career, which also means I'm getting into another stage of my life.

Ever since I heard there will be an opportunity for me to continue working there, I stopped searching for other jobs. I know it's hard and not a lot of people can have a job that they like or even relates to what they studied in University. For that reason, I'm extremely grateful that I can find a job that really interests me and I'm loving it!

Keeping my fingers crossed...

Umbra factory sale

December 10, 2006

Haven't updated my blog for awhile, it's not becuz nothing interesting happened, just becuz i'm too lazy to update...lol...anyways, I'm hoping there will be an important post coming up sometime next week! Keeping my fingers crossed!

So today, originally I was planning to go to one of the Zellers and line up for Wii w/ my coworker @ 5am. But just as we were planning which stores to go first, I received a msg from one of my group member saying we finally got a hold of the console. I was soooo relieved after hearing that.

Then no more lining up for Wii, instead I went to the Umbra factory sale @ CNE w/ my sis and mark @ 9am in the morning. I believe we lined up for nearly 2 hrs...there were sooooo many ppl lining up...the line almost "circled" the building...It was freezing cold plus there was wind!! Strong wind too!

Also, I didn't eat breakfast before going there cuz I didn't expect there to be a line up! Soon after, we couldn't stand the cold and went out to hunt for HOT CHOCOLATE! Oh my...hot chocolate was never so precious in my life until that very moment.

Mark and I walked nearly three blocks of road in the freezing weather and we finally found an Esso station and got our hot chocolate there...after like half an hour...-_-" Then we quickly walk back to the line to look for my sis cuz she's probably frozen by now...we gave her the hot chocolate but it became warm already instead of hot!

My sis went to the building next door to keep herself warm while Mark and I continued to line up for the sale. Then we took turns warming up and not too long after, we finally get to go in!!

The sale inside is big, but not every Umbra product is on sale. Some are quite cheap but some are still a little too expensive for my standard. Bought a few items here and there and once I showed them to my parents, they want to go too! lol...which is kinda funny cuz my mom NEVER likes shopping...never...
