Happy Birthday...

February 04, 2007

February is one of the month with the most Birthdays on my friends list. Febby, Ada and myself. Happy Birthday to Feb and Ada, wish you two all the best for this coming year.

A friend of mine recommended the movie "Happy Birthday" to me yesterday. I have heard of this movie before, but I read the lyrics of the theme song and figured it's a sad movie, so I didn't feel like watching it. After my friend told me a little bit about the story and who starred in it, I got tempted.

Once I started watching, I realize it is a story from a book that was written by the actress Rene Liu 劉若英 - <<我想跟你走>>. The movie version is more detailed than the book, because the "Happy Birthday" story is just one of the many stories she wrote in the book. It is a true story that happened to Rene's friend.

The movie is so real in so many aspects, and it is very touching especially towards the end of it. I was crying, even though I knew the ending from the book already. The feeling from the movie is far more stronger than the book. Now that I can visualize the characters and their emotions, they strike me much much harder than reading words from the book.

Another good, sad movie like memories of Matsuko.
